The Barnevelder is a Dutch breed named after Barneveld in central Holland. The females are renowned for their striking lacing pattern in their majestic plumage, but also for their docile temperament and their large brown eggs, occasionally with speckles. They are very good layers and often lay dark brown eggs. They come in a few different varieties. Here at Agia Skepi farm, we breed the double laced Barnevelders, which is the original colour variety, the silver double laced Barnevelders, as well as the rarer lavender silver double laced Barnevelder.
